About me

I am Flavia Bon, a traditionally trained tailor and a Fashion and Product Design graduate. From early on, I have been experimenting with the latest tools and technologies, which have become an essential part of my work. My constant curiosity and desire to create products that have never been seen before have made me a versatile developer in various design disciplines. I have worked in high-end fashion, leather goods, and material design, collaborating with different brands as a freelancer.

In recent years, my focus has shifted toward the virtual fields, and I have been honing my skills in 3D design and Metaverse applications. It has been an exciting journey exploring the possibilities of the digital realm and pushing the boundaries of traditional design. Alongside my freelance work, I also share my experience in physical and digital craft as an external teacher and mentor, passing on my knowledge and inspiring others in their creative pursuits.

Augmented Weaving

The project Augmented Weaving was initiated in 2021 by Anita Michaluszko and me to explore novel ways of working around the technique of jacquard weaving and digital forms of craft. Our research focuses on the creative exploration of physical, digital, and virtual tools in fabric and textile shape creation. The results of our work were shown at two group exhibitions during Dutch Design Week 22 and nominated for the Swiss Design Awards 23.
